Clouds over Fields/Cloud Series, continued

I get an emotional connection with an environment, or a scene or something I see and feel and I take a photo of whatever it is. But the photo never communicates or expresses that connection. So I "touch" it up: I make the clouds blacker, the sky wider, the grass more yellow or brown, the trees darker and sharper............whatever it takes so the result is that the image communicates the experience I had when I saw it in the first place. A simple, pure photo of a field just doesnt always get it. I think what I'm trying to be is a painter..
